Hey, I'm Sofia
I work as a project manager and a parent, an expat residing in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt solid.
Why I Built Relocate & Thrive
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday-family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.
